About the Study
Measuring what routine injection care actually delivers.
Musculoskeletal injection therapies are used every day to relieve pain and restore function in joints, tendons and soft tissue. This prospective observational cohort study follows patients who receive those injections as part of their normal care at MSK Doctors, recording their outcomes and any safety events over time.
Because the study is observational, nothing about a patient's treatment changes by taking part. The aim is to build a transparent, real-world evidence base for how these therapies perform outside the controlled conditions of a clinical trial.

Observational, not interventional
Treatment decisions are made exactly as they would be in routine care. The study records what happens; it does not change which injection a patient receives.
Outcomes and safety together
Patient-reported outcomes and any adverse events are collected prospectively, so benefit and safety are measured on the same cohort.
Real-world practice
Data comes from injections delivered as part of everyday clinical care rather than a tightly selected trial population.
Ethically approved
The study holds a favourable opinion from an NHS Health Research Authority research ethics committee and follows the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research.
